Türkiye's Iron Ore Imports Increased in the First Months of 2026.

According to Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) data, Türkiye's iron ore imports increased by approximately 6% year-on-year to 1.9 million tons in January-February 2026, with an import value of $204 million. Brazil was the leading importer, while Norway and Russia also saw increased participation in the supply chain.

This situation, which once again highlights the importance of strengthening domestic production for the sector in terms of both supply security and foreign exchange savings, confirms the strategic importance of utilizing domestic iron ore resources.
